Judith Livingston, Secondary Lockdown JUROR'S CHOICE
20" x 16", Acrylic on Gallery Canvas, CAN$400.00 Unframed - Available for Sale
In our "Secondary Lockdown", gatherings were not permitted. We stayed in our boxes. Doors became windows, and our world more muted and unsettling, for now. Juror's comments: This work captures the endlessly repetitious moment in which many of us are stuck. The title has some fun with a double entendre referring to the serialized lockdowns as well as the composition’s palette of secondary colours. The trees provide an optimistic image of enduring hope – encouraging the viewer to look beyond the present, or maybe to get out into a forest and get in touch with how temporary all of this truly is.
