The painting invites viewers to explore its depths, uncovering the layers of life and history that it represents. The reference to ancient places full of memories adds a nostalgic and contemplative dimension, suggesting that the road depicted is not just a physical path but also a metaphorical journey through the collective memories of these storied locations. This painting has a three dimensional aspect because it is acrylic paint on molded watercolour paper on a framed canvas. www.carmelacasuccio.com @carmelacasuccio_art | 18 x 12 | 700 | Show Select
Casuccio | Carmela | Acrylic | ENCOUNTERS explores the idea of a sense of place—an ever-shifting landscape where fleeting images emerge and dissolve, hinting at memories, emotions, and imagined geographies. Whether real or imaginary, these places act as repositories of our hopes, dreams, and lived experiences. My work is an exploration of the personal and collective ties we form with places—ties shaped not just by geography, but by feeling, memory, biography, and story. A sense of place is expressed here not through literal representation, but through layered form, colour, and gesture—each brushstroke reaching toward a space that exists as much within us as beyond us. www.carmelacasuccio.com @carmelacasuccio_art | 12 x 18 | 385 | Show Select

Greenway | Kate | Magazine Paper Collage | This tyger is made up entirely of paper sourced and torn from magazines, down to each individual whisker, indicated fur and eye highlights. The challenge is that the artist cannot mix their own palette, and is limited to what they can find. I look for pattern, and different shades of necessary colours to create form, texture and dimension. I also like to hide some easter eggs in the text I select, such as the tiger poem. This noble beast evokes nobility, and a trace of exotic histories, explorations and poetry. | 18 x 18 | 500 | Show Select
Greenway | Kate | Dimensional Mixed Media | In “Misty Morning,” a dimensional mixed media collage, materials include what might have otherwise been discarded, and are worked in fine detail - scrap papers for each individual leaf, cardboard, hand-painted and collaged tissue papers for the misty background, thrifted fabric, lace, natural organics such as grasses, birchbark from downed trees, moss and crushed eggshells, even thread for each individual flower stamen. In keeping, the custom solid pine frame is from re-purposed wood, all with an effort to be ecologically aware of our consumption. Part of the fun of this work is the 'treasure hunt' viewers take to find how and where the materials are used. The trees escape the confines of the frame as well as floating on top of the matting, giving life and energy. This artwork is inspired by the small, quiet, natural habitats scattered throughout our region like the Greenbelt. | 24 x 21 | 550 | Show Select

Mon | Paul | Acrylic | Ray On Glacier Mountain is an acrylic painting inspired by a photo taken during my holiday in Iceland. This 24x18 inch piece is part of my Iceland series, reflecting my exploration of natural scenes with dramatic light. It aims to evoke awe and peace, best appreciated in intimate settings for its detailed textures.
